Guidelines to Midsemester Presentation

We will have midsemester presentations on Wednesday 3:15pm!

Each team has seven minutes to present their work. Please do not go over this limit. Every member of a team has to present, but it's up to you to decide how you want to split the presentation. We suggest that you make a single presentation and one person can switch the slides even when the other person talks.

The mark that you get for the midterm progress of your project is joint for all project partners, so it is in your interest to ensure that no one slacks off.

After each presentation, there will be eight minutes allocated for questions. Meaningful and insightful questions, that provide a constructive critique of the presented work will score you points as well.

To summarise, the grading will be as follows:

  • Your project (one score for the whole team):
    • Problem motivation 1
    • Background and related work 2
    • Your solution's technical value (how novel it is, what are the challenges, what's so great about it) 7
    • Progress made so far (everything you designed, implemented) 8
    • Future plans and project management (next steps, challenges that you encountered, time and people management) 2
    • Evaluation plans (how will you test if your solution is good or not? will you compare? against what?) 3
  • Presentations (individual scores):
    • Clarity of your presentation 1
    • Questions asked about others' work 1

Total: 25 points
